How to cook farro.

Distilled from

  • 1C farro
  • 2.5 C salted water
  1. For 1 cup Farro, add about 2 and 1/2 cups salted water in a saucepan and bring it to a boil.
  2. Reduce the heat and simmer the grain with a closed lid
  3. for another 15-30 minutes until tender.
  4. Drain the water if any – I use this sometimes for my soup or cooking vegetables – cool and then use as per need.
Rice cooker: 1C farro / 3 C water; on “brown rice setting” (45 min)
Pressure cooker: 1C farro / 3 C water; 2-3 whistles (10-15 min). Soak overnight if you can
